All-Church Retreat

Our church members and their families enjoy our All-Church Retreat weekend held every spring at the Presbyterian Camp and Retreat Center. This beautiful center is located near Allenspark, Colorado, at the foot of 13,000-foot Mt. Meeker about a 50-minute drive from UUCB. It offers attendees majestic mountain views, tranquil aspen groves, small wild animal viewing in their habitat, easy hiking trails, starry skies, vibrant sunsets, good food, and cozy cabins. It really is a delightful spiritual place to get away from all of the stresses of busy lives and relax with your friends from church.

During our weekend retreat (Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday morning), our members' fellowship together by creating fun and educational adult and children’s workshops and activities. Typical workshops and activities include sing-alongs, dream analysis, face painting, family hikes, group campfires activates, women’s spirituality, photograph lessons, water color painting lessons, easy dance lessons, what BICUPS is all about, what does it mean to be transgender, the joy of bird watching, board games, finger painting, story telling. Creativity and a sense of fun are all that is required to lead a workshop or activity.

The highlight of the weekend is our annual amateur talent show for both kids and adults. This fun-packed event includes all who want to sing, dance, play an instrument, perform tricks, tell stories, put on skits, juggle, or just about anything you and/or your kids are willing entertain us with. After the talent show, we love to gather around a campfire to roast marshmallows and sing campfire songs.

We round out our weekend with a Sunday Celebration Service in the outdoor theater (weather permitting) with Mt. Meeker as our spiritual back drop. Come join us this coming year, and you will get to know our religious community even better.
