Religious Education for AdultsUUCB offers a variety of classes and workshops each year for adults, which provide opportunities for members and friends to learn about a wide range of spiritual and social action topics, and to pursue their individual spiritual growth and development. Starting in September 2007, "adult Sunday School" will be held every Sunday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. featuring discussions about UU values, principles, and topics of interest. The class is free to members and pledging friends; non-members will be asked to pay $5 per session. Childcare is provided. Signing up in advance would be appreciated (sign-up sheets are on the Welcome Table in the church foyer). Here's a sampling of the topics for some workshops and classes we've offered:
One of the most popular classes UUCB offers periodically is "Build Your Own Theology," which is designed to provide a systematic, disciplined, and communal approach to a process whereby individuals create their own personal theology. In addition to classes and workshops, UUCB has a lending library of books on a wide variety of religious and spiritual topics, as well as a bookstore through which you can make purchases. For information about upcoming classes or workshops, check the church newsletter. We are always looking for new ideas for adult religious education (RE) offerings.

Many Unitarian Universalists are people who grew up
in some other
religion, or who have never been a member of any religion and now
have chosen to cast their lot with UUism. Those who have moved on
from another religion often thought they didn't have a theology
any more, and those who have never been a member of a religion often don't
know what comprises a theology. |
